About

My name is Dave and I’m a guy who loves Jesus and a diverse body of believers. I attend a local church and think it is important to have a home congregation of believers with which to worship on a regular basis and study His Word. I change as I grow in grace and knowledge of Jesus with the direction of the Holy Spirit and the teaching I get from the Word of God. A former professing Charismatic, I am now much more closely in agreement with [and embrace] what one might call  ‘Calvinist’ or ‘Reformed’ theology. I am not a big fan of labels and prefer to be known just as a brother in Christ or simply Christian. On the other hand, I think it is important to take a stand on what I believe is true biblical doctrine and not pander to what I think others may want to hear. The simplest way to understand what I believe to be the truth is to read the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith.

This blog will hopefully serve to provide sound scriptural advice and information on a wide variety of topics that affect the believer’s life each and every day. It is written in the spirit of Christ’s love for us.

Perhaps you will not agree with everything I post. In fact, if you’re a regular reader and a thinking person, I would almost guarantee it. What I hope and pray for is that we can always agree on Christ’s immeasurable love for us as children of the most high God.

It is a difficult thing for someone to die for a righteous person. It may even be that someone might dare to die for a good person. But God has shown us how much he loves us—it was while we were still sinners that Christ died for us! -Romans 5:7-8 (GNT)
