Patience

For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. Hebrews 10:36 KJV

I want it and I want it now. How often, as Americans, we think such things and act that way. But, there is a payoff if we trust God and are willing to wait on Him that we will never understand without first having patience.

And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: -Romans 5:3‭-‬4 KJV

Loving our fellow man.

Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. 1 John 4:7‭-‬8 KJV

Love for our fellow man (all of humanity) is not an option for those of us who are Christian. It is all too easy to get caught up in recent protests and have knee-jerk reactions to all that has happened. Let’s not kid ourselves. The only One above it is our LORD. We need His direction and strength to overcome the anger and hatred. Through the Holy Spirit, our eyes can be open to see the truth: there is only 1 race of men — the human race.

Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law. -Psalms 119:18 KJV

Depressed? Downtrodden?

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. -Isaiah 41:10 KJV

I guarantee you that, if I feel anxious, depressed or beaten down, the one thing that isn’t on my mind is the Lord my God. Every time I put the verse above to the test, He comes through for me. I have never failed to get what I need. Never.

But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. -Philippians 4:19 KJV

Who do you belong to?

For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s. -Romans 14:7‭-‬8 KJV

So often, we seem to think that this is our life to live as we see fit and the decisions are really ours to make. However, clearly, God is sovereign and our life is not our own. We were dead and have been quickened (made alive again) in Christ. We are His to do with as He wishes. Thank Him that He loves us so very much and has great plans for us as His children! What are His plans for you?

And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; -Ephesians 2:1 KJV
