Delivered from Fear (Psalm 34)

I sought the Lord, and He answered me, and delivered me from all my fears. -Psalm 34:4 (MEV)

Please take note that, in the verse referenced above, the psalmist does not say that he was delivered from financial hardship, the heartbreak of a relationship in trouble, unemployment, bad health or any of the other major life issues we may face in our walk with the LORD. What it does say is that he was delivered from all of his fears.

All too often, I hear a preacher who teaches some sort of ‘ask and receive exactly what you’re asking for’ theology which frankly does not coincide with what God’s word teaches us. We are going to have trials and tribulations in this fallen world, especially if we are effective warriors for God. Satan and his evil minions will try to come against us all the time if we are walking with the LORD and spreading His gospel message.

The good news revealed in this one verse is that we will be delivered from our fears if we but seek the LORD!
