I was thinking this morning about how hot today is going to be once again throughout the area in which I live. Of course, I shouldn’t complain about that — many have much more severe weather than we do in Connecticut. Regardless, prolonged time in the sun can lead to things like sun stroke, melanomas, painful burns — you name it. It is no wonder the psalmist (living in a very dry area of the world with extreme desert heat) chose to describe our God as One who protects us from the sun by day and moon by night.
