Calvary Chapel in Uncasville is apparently on fire for the Lord, having expanded its outreach to a fellowship in Willimantic and a new campus in New London! They recently took over the former premises of the Huntington Street Baptist Church. Pastor Joe delivers excellent biblical messages to the congregation as he teaches from God’s word most Sundays (sure, even Joe takes a break every once in a while). I’m heading back there this Sunday, as I have been on the prowl for a group of believers to fellowship with and think, of the places I’ve visited, perhaps God is calling me to go there.

On a completely different subject, have you tried the YouVersion Bible App for your phone or tablet?  I use it on both my Android smartphone and my Amazon Kindle Fire HD tablet and find it to be an indispensable tool of modern technology for quick access to God’s word. The app allows you to read the Bible in any number of versions — your preference; therefore, handy when comparing verses to see if you understand the translation’s meaning accurately. Another thing I make use of is a daily plan. In my case, I read a devotional from Joyce Meyer called Promises for Your Everyday Life. As with the app and many of the Bible versions, it’s free of charge.

Thank God it’s not contingent on me living a sin-free life! However, it is contingent on me accepting the salvation so freely and lovingly given by our Lord.
